Hester van Dorn

This is Hester van Dorn by Barrick Samplers.  I stitched this sampler with a dark-blue overdyed silk on a yellow hand-dyed linen.  I am Swedeish and blue and yellow are the colors of the Swedish flag, so I thought that this would be a nice tribute to my heritage (I have been living in the US for the past 12 years).
This sampler was stitched to celebrate the year that a couple of our Greencheek Conures (small parrots) Rock and Hugin had their first clutch of babies - so I guess that you can say that this sampler was adapted into a "hatch sampler"...
The initials on top are those of the proud "grandparents"; my DH and myself.

Thanks for looking,
